#4 Reuse
I Want To Do It Because:
> I don't want to throw away stuff that still has life in it
> It's so much fun to think of ways to reuse old or broken stuff
> I can use my creativity to make something both I and other people can enjoy
Always Keep in Mind To:
1) Reuse the same thing again and again
> I will be faithfull to rule #3 Replace and I will reuse the ustensils I had replaced, over and over again until I cannot use them any more for this purpose. Then I will use them for some other purpose.
> I will try my best to reuse the same thing for many other purposes.
For example: a jar can be used for holding (e.g. pencils), storing (e.g. jam), transporting (e.g. salad) or even drinking (e.g. beer).
2) Upcycle
Upcycling means to use an object, add some
more materials, and create something whose
value is greater than the initial object.
For example: take an empty champaign/wine
bottle and some newspaper.
Wrap the newspaper around the bottle and...
Voila! You have a simple yet very stylish
flower vase.
3) Downcycle
To downcycle means to reduce the quality of the
object, and make something out of it whose value is smaller than the initial object.
For example: Got a very old car? Why get rid of it, when you can make a perfectly good sofa out of it? :)
Note to self: I'm not the only one who can reuse these objects. Maybe there are other people who need them and can do something creative with them, so I can give it to someone else. For free. Giving is caring :)
I have made a list of links to youtube videos that teach me how to reuse various objects. Click here: REUSE INDEX. If you can't find what you're looking for, please comment in the section at the end of the page and we will add it for you.
The Good Part
> I save a lot of money
> I have a lot of fun reusing/repurpusing!
> I can personalize everything to suit my style
> I can boost my creativity
The Bad Part
> Sometimes I might fail in my attempt to reuse/repurpose something. But it's ok, I can try again or try something different next time.
Or I can just buy something from a friend/relative/local thrift shop.
