Hello. I am Bianca and I am the founder of Zero Waste Japan. I have created this website in order to

                                      track the development of the Zero Waste movement in Japan. Before anything else, I feel it is necessary                                         to write a thing or two about myself.

 

 

                                        My full name is Bianca Yamaguchi, age 29 (in 2017). I was born in Romania but I am currently residing                                           in Fukuoka, Kyushu Island, Japan.

 

I have launched the Zero Waste Japan website in November 2014 because I am one of the many who struggle to rid this world of all that is unnecessary, of offering people the option of leading a simple, effective and fulfilling life! A ZERO WASTE life. I chose to start in Japan for two reasons: 1) There is nobody in Japan trying to spread the zero waste concept. 2) Japan is a great platform for innovation and technology.

 

As you can see, I am not a scholar with exceptional background, I don’t work for any major companies, I didn’t write any books and I don’t have any power or influence of any kind. I am just an average young woman with a vision.

 

Regarding my beliefs concerning the Zero Waste movement, I have been laughed at, ridiculed, told that is impossible or that I don’t have the means. I was told I dream too much, I aim too high and I lack many skills to succeed. I have been rejected by universities because I was thought to be “not realistic enough”. I had been refused by investors, because my zero waste ideas were “not practical enough”. And so on.

 

I had been living with all these failures for some years now, actually believing that my vision was way too difficult to achieve or that I am not capable of bringing any change. But not any more! With everything that I will be doing from now on, I will try to prove everybody wrong! I will take control of my life and will do everything in my power to achieve my life-long goal: To be a Zero Waste Hero.

I want all the young people who have a big vision like me to see my evolution FROM ZERO TO HERO and to see for themselves that it IS possible to become who you’ve ever wanted to be, even though everything around you seems to keep you off track!
